What to Expect

An Emphasis on Scripture

The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is the record of God's revelation of Himself to man. Thus, the sixty-six books of the Bible given to us by the Holy Spirit constitute the plenary (inspired equally in all parts) Word of God (1 Corinthians 2:7-14; 2 Peter 1:20-21). As such, our entire service revolves around the text of Scripture.

Our pastor uses the Legacy Standard Bible translation from the pulpit. Learn more about the LSB here.

Expository Preaching

Building on the idea that Scripture is the inspired word of God, it only makes sense that the preaching would be based on the richness of the text, rather than the pastor's opinions, preferences, or personal anecdotes. The primary charge given to pastors in Scripture is to "preach the Word" (2 Timothy 4:1-2). For this reason, our sermons take us verse-by-verse through books of the Bible, in order to grow the congregation through the entirety of Scripture.

Theologically Rich Music

We believe that worship is intended to please God, not to please man. For this reason, we avoid shallow, man-centered worship music that is prevalent in the Christian music industry today. One of the main commands is Scripture is to "worship in Spirit and in truth" (John 4:24). Most Sundays will have traditional and modern hymns and anthems with our choir, and occasional singing of contemporary worship songs that share deep theological truths. We use the Hymns of Grace hymnal.

Intergenerational Worship

Currently, our entire church family worships together. This gives children of all ages the opportunity to learn from mature Christians how to participate in a worship service. It also gives those more mature Christians the opportunity to learn patience, grace, and how to pay attention in the midst of occasional distraction
